Sensei Robert Hargreaves

Founder of Parkland Shotokan Karate Association, a respected instructor, mentor, and advocate for physical and mental well-being through martial arts, has created a nurturing and empowering environment where students of all ages and abilities can learn and grow. His teaching style focuses not only on physical technique but also on the development of character, self-confidence, and resilience.

Beyond the dojo, Robert is a firm believer in the transformative power of martial arts in everyday life. He emphasizes the importance of respect, discipline, and integrity, instilling these values in his students both on and off the training floor.
He is a Senior Dan
CSKA Certified Level A Instructor & CSKA Level A National Official. An NCCP Level 1 Coach; Past CSKA National Team Coach
and year 2000 Senior Male Champion Kata & Kumite AJKA California.
Dumitru Casu
CSKA Shodan - PSKA Assistant Instructor
Dumitru Casu is a dedicated Shotokan karate practitioner and instructor with a strong commitment to traditional training and technical excellence. With years of experience in kihon, kata, and kumite, he brings a disciplined yet motivating approach to every class. Dumitru emphasizes strong fundamentals, mindful movement, and practical application, helping students develop confidence, precision, and spirit in their training. As part of the Parkland Shotokan Karate Association, he is proud to support students of all levels in their journey toward personal growth and martial arts mastery.
Hanshi John Hanratty
Head Instructor - CSKA 9th Dan
Hanshi 9th. Dan John Hanratty has been training and teaching Shotokan Karate for over 50 years. He is Head Instructor to the Canadian Shotokan Karate Association and Technical Chairman Shotokan Alliance International.
Hanshi Hanratty is recognized as one of the top instructors and in North America. His motivational skills, communication and teaching methods, plus an in depth knowledge of Karate history, application and technique, have him in demand to teach throughout Europe and North America.
He is the author of two books 'The Shotokan Instructor's Handbook' and 'Hanratty on Karate: Training the Body and Mind'. Both available on Amazon.
